About this site

Private Candidates lists exam centres that take private candidates and compares the fees they publish, so home-educated students, adults and resitters can find a centre without phoning round blind.

Independent

This site is not run by, funded by or connected to JCQ, any exam board or any exam centre. No centre pays to be listed or to appear higher. Centres appear in order of distance, price or name, as you choose.

How fees are checked

• A fee is only shown if it appears on the centre's own website. Each listing links to that page and shows the date it was checked.
• Where a centre's price list is for an earlier year, the listing says so: prices usually rise each year.
• Anything we couldn't confirm is shown as "not stated" or "ask for a quote", never guessed.
• Board fees and deadlines come from JCQ and the exam boards; see sources.
